RCIA
ARE YOU SOMEONE OR DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO…
♦ Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic?
♦ Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and
Eucharist?
♦ Is not baptized?
We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. You are welcome to participate in the process with your questions, your insights and your faith story
in a warm, accepting setting.

  Stages of Initiation

  The Pre-Catechumenate
The RCIA officially begins when a person calls the parish office and says something like, “I want to be baptized,” or, “I’d like to know more about the Catholic Church.” When such a person begins the process of initiation, she or he is in the first stage or period also known as inquiry.
  Period of the Catechumenate
This second stage of the initiation process is the extended period of time when those to be initiated receive their more formal training
in the Christian way of life.
  Period of Purification
This final period of preparation is one of intense, spiritual recollection that usually coincides with Lent. It is a period of purification and enlightenment. It is a time for reflection and prayer more than teaching.
  Period of Mystagogy
The process of initiation continues even after the Easter celebration, during the Eastertide period of mystagogia. When the new members of the church continue meeting and discussing what it means
to on mission for the church.
